I never win but I finally won something!
I won 3rd Place in Hallmark Lighting's "Design a Chandelier Contest" and my design will be featured in Hallmark's new catalogue. The chandelier has old world elegance and modern simplicity. A beautiful damask drum shade is encapsulated in an antique gold and smoked glass frame. Check out my design concept below which can be customized for the hospitality market.

A Couple of New Ads
I was very excited to be able to design several ads for the new issue of Kitchen Drawer Illustrated. It is a great magazine and it's "Just a little different." Check it out at Kitchen Drawer.net or pick up the new issue at the Clothesline, Here are two of the ads featured in the magazine!

On the home front...
So this year, in addition to my new years resolution... I made a list of things that we had to do around the house... and IF I COULD FIND THE LIST, I WOULD POST IT. I think we are doing ok for it only being March. We finally cleaned and sealed the grout in the master bath... and now we are at the next thing on the list THE GUEST BEDROOM. Before my brother got married, he basically lived with us so the guest bedroom had purpose as a guest bedroom.. But we finally threw away his tooth brush and I have reclaimed the guest room as MY OFFICE.
I need a space to do the small amount of work that I do, right? I get tired of toting my Designosauras ( that's my dell) back and forth from the kitchen table to the antique dresser to the floor to the sofa... I'm ready for a real office :)
Solution:
So we swapped our full size guest bed for a twin. We are building a custom "day bed" frame so it can function like a sofa and guest bed. More to come.
The desk... I wanted something BIG... to have plenty of room for all of my paper and printers and design stuff...
I scratched out some designs for the desk and the bed and talked the over with Scott (whose engineer background comes in handy!) and We (Peter my hubby, and Scott my Brother) have began the trek to my new custom office.
The Materials
The beginning of my new desk at around 7' LONG. Progress report to come next week!

Intrigue Salon
Intrigue Salon is located in McDonough, Georgia. Intrigue is owned by Cindy Foster and Natalie Marbut who are both Master Cosmetologist. They have four additional stylist on staff. The salon wanted to step it up by getting new brochures and business cards that reflected the style of the salon. I also organized a photo shoot and created a facebook page to keep the customers up to date on the salon gossip!
